Choir Workshops & Courses

The idea of offering choir workshops and courses came about through many people hearing the community choir, Glorious Chorus, and wanting to learn how to make that sort of sound, that Sandra had created, for themselves! So the workshops are designed to give everyone the chance to experience singing in a choir, to work together as part of a creative group, and really gel as singers.

Sandra will check that you are singing in the right range – it's not uncommon for a female tenor to discover that they should really be singing soprano! After some fun warm-up exercises we will introduce you to some great songs, and also show you how to really 'get into a song' and make it come alive for both you and the audience.

By the end of the workshop you will be singing with more passion and expression than you ever knew you had in you!

Sandra will show you effective breath and voice techniques to help you open up to the magic of singing together, as well as teaching you some simple, beautiful songs so you can apply your new techniques and hear the difference!

We aim to provide a joyous and inspiring workshop for everyone. Whether you are new to singing, or experienced, we will find a way to enhance your voice and release your spirit in some rockin', bumpin', soulful melodies and harmonies!

This is a real chance to blow away the myths and misinformation you may have heard about singing and about your own voice.
We will have you really singing!

For groups of individuals – or individual groups!

One-day workshops are usually attended by individuals coming together as a group to take part.

Weekend or longer courses – the workshop format can also be easily extended to cater for groups of friends or colleagues, in which case full weekends or longer courses can be arranged to meet the groups' requirements.
This offers a unique opportunity for the corporate sector.
Please see the Corporate Work page for full details.

Established groups – for groups that already sing together, (e.g., community choirs, ensembles or quartets) Sandra also offers choir coaching.
Please see the Choir Coaching page for full details.

Participants' comments:

"We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the recent workshop . It was a wonderful afternoon – if only we could remember everything! Some of us were able to come to the evening concert and we were blown away by the sound – we're so looking forward to future concerts."

"Thank you Sandra and Helen. Sunday's workshop was amazing, life-changing – and I thought I was coming to a singing workshop!"
- Rosie

"I physically couldn't sing before. During the course, I was aware of the meaning of the notes; I could feel these sounds 'twanging' inside me and I would get a sudden rush of emotion. Singing has changed me. I get such a feeling of freedom and joy, I cannot imagine living without it."
- Beverley
