Womens 4 week course

All Sandra’s vocal technique workshops, breathing workshops and singing courses have a bias towards providing you with practical, informative vocal training and skills. They are for singers of all levels who are committed and excited to be improving their singing. Your ability to listen accurately and to assess, both yourself and others, will develop too, as you increase your awareness of how your vocal instrument works best. There are plenty of practical exercises that help build your confidence and your ability as you experience a release in your vocal mechanism. Having a free, resonant voice is easier than you imagined!

This new 4 week course is for singers who know they have more in them. They are essentially group singing lessons with the bonus of harmony! Sandra has devised special harmony exercises for the course.

PART 1 - We will cover good breathing and support for your singing, what it means and how to do it well. We will also cover how to ‘change gear’ in your voice and to manage those tricky breaks. This will improve tone and consistency through your range. We will look at placement and resonance and how to create more power with no push. We will use ‘studies,’ short harmony exercises, for you to practice using the techniques and then into songs.

PART 2 -
We will continue the journey into tonal colours to add depth to our singing. We will enhance ensemble singing skills and learn how to blend, beautifully. We will also work in Chest Voice and work the bridge into middle voice.

  • This is one of Sandra’s most popular workshops! It is the essential foundation for all singers, regardless of style or experience and it can change all aspects of your singing – Tone, Agility, Range and Emotional connection – learning to breathe well is the key to better singing!

    This is NOT a singing workshop! It really is all about the breath. There are so many misunderstandings and inaccuracies about breathing that understanding how the whole breathing function works, can be a revelation.

    The workshop will cover and fully explain;

    • The anatomy of breathing; How it works and why it doesn’t

    • How your posture affects your breathing

    • The 3 main breathing muscles – How we train them

    • Exercises to get these muscles stronger

    • Connecting your voice into this essential support

    Using visual aids, practical exercises, clear explanations and an experiential style, Sandra can show you how to enhance your experience of singing and your sound.

    Sandra has also run this workshop for IPF and COPD (Asthma, Emphysema, etc) clients. Anyone with serious breathing difficulties can see Sandra privately (in person or online) for a session.
